Helen Bieker:

Helen Bieker, 90, Garden City, formerly of WaKeeney and Collier, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at the Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City. She was born Oct. 12, 1916, in St. Peter to Joseph and Katherine (Sander) Appelhans. She attended schools in St. Peter, Kansas, and Graham County. She married Anthony F. Bieker on Nov. 24, 1938, in St. Peter. He preceded her in death Sept. 3, 1999. She was a head cook at St. Mary School for 21 years.

Survivors include a son, Stan Bieker, two daughters, Diane Florer, and Janelle Becker, 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Three sons, Duane Bieker, Ron Bieker and Jerry Bieker, preceded her in death.

Burial is in the Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
