Born in rural Graham County. Daughter of Joseph Benjam,in & Hazel May (Jones) Chalfant. Married: 11/4/1936 in Hill City. Mark died June 17, 1983. Survivors include four sons, Elwyn E., James D., Larry E., & Orman L. Bell, a daughter, Joyce Lyon, two brothers, Hubert & Loren Chalfant, a sister, Esta Frazier, 15 grandchildren, Four step-grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 7 step Great-grandchildren, & 2 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery
