Harry Carl HYDE, 74, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2000, at the Geary County Hospital in Junction City, Kansas. He was born January 16, 1926 in rural Sheridan County, Kansas, the son of Harry E. and Annie Faye (MILLER) HYDE.
A longtime local resident, Carl was a retired truck driver. he had married Ruth SAGER on April 17, 1951 in Lenora, Kansas, and she survives. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hill City, Kansas.

Carl is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home in Hill City; two sons, Carl Eugene HYDE of Hill City and Gary Lee Hyde of Penokee; four daughters, Utanna Mae ASHBAUGH, Hill City; Linda Sue HYDE, Great Bend; Sharon Kaye STUIVE, Wichita; and Charlotte Renee DAVIDSON, Junction City; one brother, Elmer HYDE of Cambridge, Nebraska; and two sisters, Barbara GOFF of Hill City and Katie Marie MANIS of Wichita. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother; and by one daughter, Donna Marie ABROSIER.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday September 23, at Spencer Chapel in Hill City with Rev. Charles CARTER officiating. Burial was in the Morland Cemetery, Morland, kansas, with all arrangements by Spencer Chapel of Hill City. Memorials were suggested by the family to the Dawson Place Activity Fund in Hill City.
