Merle C. Jones

Merle C. Jones, 85, Bogue, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Graham County Hospital, Hill City. He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in rural Bogue to Earl Andrew and Bernice Marie (Cannon) Jones. He married Halberta Napue on Jan. 16, 1949, in Stockton. She preceded him in death May 13, 1983. He was a farmer/stockman.

Survivors include three sons, Merle Herman Jones, Leonard E. Jones Sr., and Vincent Jones, four daughters, Linda Mae Jones, Teresa Elaine Quick, Vanesia Kay Jones, and Patricia Ann Jones,                      a brother, Eugene Jones, three sisters, Lorene Brown, Betty Scroggins, Ruth Dobson, 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hill City; burial in Mount Olive Cemetery, rural Bogue.
