"This was my great grandmother and she is buried at the Roscoe Cemetery. The family had the stone replaced a few years ago by the funeral home in Norton, Kansas. The old stone was broken and I attempted to patch it several times. The dates on the new stone were copied from the original which disappeared from the funeral home in Norton. The Abraham Newkirk family lived a few more years near Roscoe then moved to MacDonald County, Missouri. The oldest girl married a Leander Troutman in Hill City. He had been married to a Lotridge girl earlier and she bled to death due to a miscarriage and is also buried near the southeast corner of the Roscoe Cemetery. The second girl, Rebecca, married Mr. Sanford and my Grandmother, Estella Eldora Newkirk, married Walter Turner. Robert Richard their only son never married and he is buried in the Bean Cemetery at Little River, Kansas."        Henry
