Florence A. Tilton SPARKS

Mrs. Florence Sparks, daughter of Elmer and Clara Austen Tilton, was born July 5, 1895 in Russell County. She passed away Saturday, May 15, 1976 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 10 days.

Florence grew up and went to school in the Collyer community in Trego County. She was married to John C. Sparks, December 31, 1913.

The moved to a farm in the Prairie Home community in Graham County where they lived their entire married life.

Mr. Sparks passed away October 16, 1972. Two years later Mrs. Sparks left the farm and moved to Wakeeney.

Mrs. Sparks is survived by two children: Elmer J. Sparks of Kimball, Nebraska and Viola E. Sparks of the home; four grandchildren: John C. Sparks of the U. S. Navy stationed at Key West, Florida; Beth Bramble, Carol Smith, Mike, two great-grandchildren, Kimberly Sparks and Brandi Smith; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Burbach, Mrs. Bertha Hubalek, Mrs. Ellen Ferges, and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sparks was a faithful member of the Prairie Home United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 599 of Hill City and the past Noble Grand Club.

Florence was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Burial in Prairie Home cemetery.
