SPELLMAN, Philomena ARMSTRONG
Hill City New Era, Thursday, September 10, 1908
Philomena ARMSTRONG SPELLMAN was born near Cincinnati, Ohio, August 27, 1827, died September 8th, 1908 aged 81 years and 11 days. She and Mr. SPELLMAN, who died in 1893, were married in 1847 in Indiana and after a residence in Iowa they came to this county in 1880. Seven children were born, only two of whom, Charles A. SPELLMAN and Mrs. Minnie CRAIG, both residents of this county, survive. The deceased was for many years a member of the Congregational church but became a charter member of the Presbyterian church which was organized at the old town of Gettysburg and retained her membership in the church at this place. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church, Rev. KEELER conducting the service.
