AINE REASOR WALDRON

William Reasor was born August 15, 1840, in Union, Kentucky. By 1872, he had moved with his wife, Milicent, to Labette, Kansas. William and his wife were received into the First Baptist Church of Edna, Labette County, KS on February 2, 1872. The 1880 Census shows William, Milicent and their four children, George A., Lillie B., Charles H. and Willie still living in Howard, Labette County.

The 1880 Census lists Williams as a farmer. Milicent died in Labette, Kansas in 1881 at age 26 leaving the four young children. William then returned to Union, Kentucky to Volunteer with the Confederate Army. The 1860 US Federal Census – Slave Schedules show he owned two slaves, an 18 year old female and a 17 year old male.

Milicent's date of death is derived from family sources but very little more is known about her. One of her children, Charles Hamner Reasor, born in Edna, Labette, KS in 1877, was always known as “Hamner”, never Charles. Hamner was his mother's maiden name and she was probably very much aware that the Hamners were descended from royal Welch ancestry!

The Reasor ancestry can be traced back to Bern, Switzerland and William's great grandfather, Michael Reasor, served in the Revolutionary War in VA.
