Obituary of MELVIN C. STRECKER
Melvin C. Strecker, 84, Lost Springs area retired farmer/stockman, died June 2, 2000, at Herington Municipal Hospital.

Born June 29, 1915, in Marion County, he was the son of the late Henry George and Marie (Ehrlich) Strecker.

He was married to Evelyn Francis Pospisil on Sept. 27, 1942, at Marion. 
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in Europe.

They moved to Lost Springs in 1949. He was a Marion County assessor for many years and also served as a Lost Springs Township trustee.

Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Alton, and an infant brother, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home; three sons, Douglas of 
Hesston, Lowell of San Antonio, Texas, and Clark of Andover; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Brockmeier Funeral Chapel, Herington. The Rev. Robert Walter was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

Memorial funds may be sent to the American Legion Auxiliary at Lost Springs.
