McBURNEY, James' son, who married Mazzie PHINNEY in July of 1895 in Marion, Kansas. Charles and Mazzie are buried in Burlingame, Kansas, but haven't been able to locate any other members of this part of the family. She is listed in the Marion County census in 1880 as living with her mom and dad, Gottfried and Catherine HAFFNER, she was 19 at the time, they were in Lehigh, Kansas. Her name is Catherine Margaretha HAFFNER, her parents moved to Omega, Oklahoma, but when her dad died in 1924, she is listed in the will as Catherine M. MEIER, Lehigh, Kansas. An old family photo names her husband as Andrew MEIER, but others think it was Frederick MEIER. I looked on the Marion County census on-line for 1920 and do not find her or her husband. They were married before 1900, had three children: Lizzy, John and Anna. I believe that Anna WEDDLE died shortly after giving birth to daughter Anna in October 1901. Henry married a woman named Augusta in about February 1902. Augusta and Henry had one child named Dave. Augusta came to the United States from Russia at the age of 27 years. There were two other older daughters born after this: Lenna Esther McARTHUR was born and died in 1886 Edith Ella McARTHUR was born 1887 and died 1891. We think these two young girls may have been born, died and been buried in or near Marion, Kansas.
