Query Surnames: Mount, Stahl

Date: 16 Mar 2000

Query: My paternal grandmother was Emily Stahl. She was the daughter of Clarence Stahl of Spring Hill, Kansas. Her Grand father was Peter Stahl of Union County, Pennsylvania. Peter was born on Feb. 19, 1826 and died May 30, 1905. (I don't know who Peter's father is.). I know that Clarence Stahl was one of twelve children. He had a sister named Annetta Stahl who married C.D. Miller. They had a daughter named Bertha Miller and she married Hubert Lyons. Some other sibling Clarence are: Emaline Stahl married to Abraham Braown; Ellen Stahl married to M.A. Schroeder; Theodore Stahl; James Elmer Stahl; Robert Stahl married to Ida Glascox; Albert Stahl (twin bro. to Clarence) married to Elsie First; Laura Stahl married to William Hines. There were three boys that died in infancy. Two of the boys were twins.

My dads family originated from the Miami County area. The surname is Mount. My Great Uncle Ralph Mount lived in Bucyrus, Kansas. My dad was born in Spring Hill, Kansas. His mother (my Gramdmother) was Emily Stahl. My dad Remembers riding the train from Texas in the late 30's - early 40's with his Grandmother Dora Stahl to Waverly, Kansas and visiting her family. Dora Stahl was married to Clarence Stahl. He had a twin brother whose name (I think) was Albert Stahl.

I'm very interesed in knowing more about my paternal grandmother's family. My grandmother was married to Harry Lyon Mount of Kansas.
