Summary of information from Samuel Bartlett history by Beth Wiseman Johnson. Richard Bartlett emigrated from England, documented in Newberry, MA, 1864. Josiah Bartlett, signer of Declaration of Independence, is a descendent of Richard Bartlett. Samuel's family lineage is also decended from Richard Bartlett.
Samuel Bartlett was the eldest of nine children of Joshua Bartlett and Elizabeth Keating. Samuel - born Sandusky, OH, died 1907. Samuel married first Rebecca Corpus, one child Amy Cordilla. Samuel married second Hanna Hockinberger of Wood Co, OH, eight children: Drucelli Arnett "Nettie"; David Hamilton; Samuel Sylvester; Francis Sylvester "Frank"; Leroy Jefferson; Andrew Martin (d 20 Oct 1878); Charles Newton; Jesse Ford (b 1 Jan 1880 in KS). In 1878, family moved from Pleasant Lake, IN, to KS. Hanna d 31 Dec 1917.

Query: I am searching for Fannie Eudora McBride. Her daughter, who is my great aunt, says her mother was born in Paola, KS. I've not found anything on her as of yet but I am just beginning on her line for her. I did find a Robert McBride (Vital Records, Births, p 1) but my aunt Ruth knows very little about her parents and sadly doesn't even know her grandparents names. I'd appreciate any information about Fannie Eudora McBride who would've been born we are estimating 1875-1890.

Query: Cemeteries of Miami Co, KS, v 1, p 76, Alex P. Brown. My realive of that name was born about 1829 in VA. I had relative that wrote a letter from Fontana, KS in 1905 but the last page is missing with the signature. These relatives had a daughter, Bertha. John Brown is same page and volumne and could be my great grandfather born about 1782.

Alexander P. Brown was one of the earliest settlers of Miami Co, KS, having settled in Osage Township in 1858. His daughter Elizabeth Brown (buried in Fontana Cemetery) married Rufus Gordon. His granddaughter Gertrude Gordon was born in Fontana in 1891. She married first ? Collins, married second ? Jackson, married third Ernest F. McNutt in 1966.

Query: I am looking for any information on my great grandfather, Ferdinand Desoto McFadden, who went by Desoto or Sota. His birth date was 29 Dec. 1876 in Fontana, Miami Co., Kansas. On his death certificate it stated Fontana as his birth place although it stated Linn as the County. His mother was Marth Louisa McFadden and I have heard that his father was John Wade McFadden, although I have no proof of this. She later married Isaac Wheeler. If any one has info. on my great grandfather, I would appreciate it.
