Query Surnames: Cook

Date: 18 September 2004

Query: Zachariah Cook b ca 1809 Ohio. In 1870 he was in Vermillion County,Illinois, and in 1880 is living with a granddaughter Mary Huffman in Valley township, Miami County. His wife was Diana Bundy. There is a Z and a Dianna Cook listed in the cemetery index as 472-V3. The Cooks were Quakers, but may not have been members of the church in Kansas.

Zachariah and Dianna had a son Benjamin Franklin Cook who had a wife named Carrie and a son Earl Frederick Cook. I also found these names in the index, 472-V3. There is also a Catherine Cook listed with the same number.

I am also searching for twin babies of another of Zachariah's sons, William Oliver Cook and his wife Catherine. William Oliver Cook was in Miami County by 1870 in Osage township. These twins were supposedly born and died between 1870 and 1880, most likely in Miami County. William Oliver Cook moved to Lyon County about 1879, as they appear there in 1880, and his wife dies there in May 1880; the mortality list says she had been a resident of Lyon County 1 year. Any clues on these 2 babies would also be helpful.
