Topic: James A White descendants...seeking
From: Janet Nelson tanelson1@juno.com
Date: Saturday, November 30, 2002 09:15 AM

WHITE/T__EWELL/CHASE/BEAN/PHILLIPS/: My great grandfather James A WHITE married second, Mattie BECKER. They had eight children. When James died in 1917 at Fort Scott, his obituary listed his married daughters only by their spouses' names, so I do not know who married whom. Therefore, am seeking any descendants of the following: Carl CHASE of Joplin Mo in 1917 (I found a Carl Frederick CHASE buried 1946 in Cherokee City Crawford Co KS cemetery listing.); AC BEAN of Ottawa KS in 1917; Robert PHILLIPS of Cherokee KS in 1917; The youngest daughter, Catherine WHITE married Gene Allen TEWELL after 1917 who was a school principal in Mulberry KS at time of wedding, but moving to Caney, Montgomery Co, KS as principal the next year. Unfortunately the wedding clipping was not dated. Do not know where or when James' wife, Mattie, died. She was living in Bourbon County when Catherine married.

If someone could look up her birth and give me any information regarding her parents names, birthdates, place of birth, ANYTHING, I would appreciate it. I have hit a brick wall on this one. Oh, my mother thinks that Erma's mother's name was Jessie Marie but not certain.
