William E. Limbocker and his wife Hannah E.Carson(my3ggparents) came to Ottawa Co. in 1882 or before. From a newspaper clipping from Barton Co. KS. dated Jan. 08,1883, the following story unfolds. Two families who former aquaintances of the Limbocker's while they lived in Barton Co. had arrived abt. Dec.01,1882. They had been exposed to smallpox and while looking for a house, they stayed with the Limbocker family. Subsequently, the Limbocker family became exposed and the whole family except for one son,Gary, died. Hannah's father was M.M. Carson, of whom I know nothing about. Searching for information on a John Burkholder who was a brother of an Isaac K. Burkholder. Both were to have been born in Rockingham county in Virginia. John was to have traveled to Kansas on or about 1858-60 from Boone, Iowa. They traveled from Knox county Ohio to Washington county Iowa then west. Two nephews, Jesse R. and Wm H. went on and settled in Harrison county Iowa at Woodbine. Wm being my great grandfather.
