Obituary of SYLVANUS TOWNE
Death Claims Another

Sylvanus Towne died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. N. B. Freeland, in this city on Sunday, February 19th, 1899, at the advanced age of sixty-nine years and nine days. Mr. Towne was borne in Calarogas county, New York, on February 10th, 1830, and in 1856 married Mrs. Jane Devough. His wife died in 1871 and five years later he came to Larned where he has since resided with his daughter and her family. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in this city, Rev. C. D. Hestwood officiating, and the remains were interred in the Larned cemetery.
