NAME: Ron Adams
SURNAME: ADAMS
I am searching for the grave of my g-g-gmother, Sophronia Adams (nee Brown), who was living in Belvue in the 1870s and 1880s, died Feb. 19, 1895. She was survived by her husband, Joseph. I suspect Sophronia died in the Belvue area and is buried there. I also was told in a very brief visit to Belvue quite a few years ago that the main cemetery in Belvue was down along the river. It was severely damaged in a major flood in the 1903-04 timeframe, and if my g-g-gmother was buried there, most likely her grave was wiped out. Can someone shed any light on the flood story, or possibly guide me on where to look for Sophronia's grave. By the way, she apparently also went by the nickname Lucy, so her name may appear that way. Thank you very much.

SURNAME: CHRISTENSEN
CHRISTENSEN - MARIADAHL/OLDSBURG - 1880's. I am researching my Christensen family heritage. My great-grandmother immigrated from Denmark with her family in the 1870's. In 1880, she received a letter headed "Mariadahl, Pottawatomie County" from a person who signed the letter "Your cousin, AMELIA CHRISTENSEN". The letter refers to "Uncle ANDREW", and includes the names FREDDIE and MARY, as if they were brother and sister of Amelia. There is a Mrs. SANDBERG mentioned in the letter. There is a second letter between other family members about ten years later, when my Christensens were living nearby in Riley County, that refers to "Uncle Christensen" and refers to a visit to Oldsburg. Is there anyone with Christensen ancestry researching in Pottawatomie County for whom any of these names might sound familiar? Please e-mail me at the above address, I have extensive information on the rest of the family -- including ancestry in Denmark. I would also be happy to forward copies of these letters.

In the late 1890's, Charles and Theodore moved to Southern California. The rest of the family apparently also moved some time later. I would appreciate any information on when this was done, and if anyone has access to the state censuses of 1885 and 1895 (I understand the State Historical Society has films of these censuses) perhaps they'd be so kind as to check those for me. In return, I'd be glad to try to look up any California information anyone may want.

SURNAME: NEALIS
I am trying to find information on my Grandfather A. B. Nealis. I'm not sure when his parents W.P. and Eliza Nealis came to the Wamego, Ks. area. A.B. married my grandmother in the early 1890's and their first three children were born in the Wamego area. They moved to Wallace county Kansas in 1905 and my mother was born here in Wallace County in January of 1906. My grandmother's maiden name was Sadie Hudson and she was the daughter of Barney and Susan Hudson. She and her parents came to Kansas from Illinois when she was a young girl. She and A.B.'s parents are buried in the Wamego Cemetery. Her brother's son is buried there also and his name is Elton Hudson. A couple of years ago I was at Wamego and went through the cemetery. There was one sister to A.B. that I didn't find. Her name was Sylvia Nealis Youngkemp and she passed away around 1937 or 38. I thought that surely she and her family were buried there in the county so far I haven't located them. What I really want to know is if there is anyone left that might have some information on these families or where I can go to maybe find some documents or graves. I'm doing this for my Granddaughter as she is interested. I have written down what I remember from what my mother and her brother told me as a child. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you so much.
