DEATH RECORD

MERTES. – The body of John Mertes, 45 years old, a storm victim, was taken to Andale this afternoon by the Flanagan & Bourman Undertaking Company. Services will be held there Thursday morning.

RAUSCH. – A double funeral service for Henry Rausch and his daughter Edith was held this morning from the St. Marys Church. Both of the bodies were buried in the same grave. Flanagan & Bourman had charge of the services.

BLURTON. – The body of Robert T. Blurton was taken to Sedgwick today, where funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock.

FANSHIER. – The body of Mrs. Florence Fanshier was taken to Eldorado today by the motor hearse of the Wichita Undertaking Company.

RENFRO. – S. H. Renfro, 89 years old, died today at his home, 215 North Walnut Avenue, after a short illness. He had lived in Kansas since 1879, when he came from Kentucky. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 67 years. He is survived by two sons, William and J. A. Renfro of Wichita, and one daughter living in Neodesha, Kas. The body will be taken to Neodesha tomorrow afternoon by the Wichita Undertaking Company.

GWYN. – Jesse Gwyn, 65 years old, died at his home, 1216 South Lawrence Avenue, yesterday after a short illness. He is survived by his widow and one son, Clarence A. Gwyn, of Wichita. Funeral services will be held from the A. G. Mueller chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock and the body will then be taken to Galveston, Ind., for interment.

SALLEY. – Annie B. Salley, 914 East Ninth Stret, died at her home yesterday. She is survived by her husband, James and five children. Funeral services will be held from the New Hope Church, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The body is at the Avery Undertaking Company parlor.

ANOTHER DEATH ADDED TO TOLL OF TORNADO

Mrs. Rebecca Seward Dies at Axtell Hospital.

Mrs. Rebecca Seward, another victim of last week’s storm, died at the Axtell hospital, Newton, at 7 o’clock yesterday evening. She was the mother of Mrs. Marks, who was killed instantly in the tornado. The funeral of Mrs. Seward and Mrs. Marks will take place Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Christian church at Leon, Kan. The burial will be in Quito cemetery.

On account of the nature of Mrs. Seward’s injuries the burial of Mrs. Marks was delayed so that a double funeral might be held. Mrs. Seward was 76 years of age.

 

Deaths – Funerals

RENFRO. – S. H. Renfro died at his home, 215 North Walnut street, at noon yesterday. He was 89 years old. He leaves two sons, William, who resides at 215 North Walnut, and J. A. Renfro, who lives on South Oak. He is also survived by one daughter, who lives at Neodesha, Kan., and with whom Mr. Renfro resided until about six months ago, at which time he came to live with his son. Mr. Renfro was originally from Sommerset, Ky., and came to Kansas in 1879. He had been a member of the Masonic lodge for 67 years. The body will be taken from the Wichita Undertaking company’s parlors to Neodesha this morning.

FANCHIER. – Mrs. Florence Fanchier, who died at the home of her sister, 536 South Emporia avenue, Saturday evening, was buried yesterday. The body was taken from the Wichita Undertaking company’s parlors to El Dorado, Kan., by motor in the morning.

GWYN. – Funeral services for Jesse Gwyn, who died Monday at his home, 1216 South Lawrence avenue, will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Mueller undertaking parlors. All of the members of the I. O. O. F. lodge will meet at Queen City hall, 117 South St. Francis avenue, in order to attend the funeral of their brother member in a body.

SALLIE. – Mrs. Annie R. Sallie, who died Monday at her residence, 614 East Ninth street, will be buried tomorrow afternoon. The services will be held at 2:30 at the New Hope Baptist church. The Rev. E. G. Fishback will officiate and B. H. Avery will be in charge.
