Dies at Home

Roy Denton, 60, of 551 Volutsia, city freight agent for the Atchison-Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, died Monday morning at home.

Born May 14, 1896, in Tennessee, Mr. Denton came to Woichita in 1917. He resided in Tulsa, Okla., from 1927-42 when he returned to Wichita. The freight agent was a member of the Baptist church in addition to being a Mason and Shriner. He also held membership in Wichita Chamber of Commerce and Traffic Club.

Survivors include his wife Lois; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Adkins, Tulsa, and Mrs. Cherry Huenergardt, 959 N. Hoover; two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Rice, Anthony, Kan., and Mrs. Effie Wycoff, 654 N. Gordon; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Downing Mortuary. The Rev. Donald Jackson, of St. James Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
