TAKEN IN DEATH

Wichita Beacon, April 12, 1945

Robert Vernon Gilbert, 58, of 3090 South Black Court, Planeview, died Thursday morning in a local hospital. Gilbert, a former resident of Jefferson City, Mo., moved to Wichita a year and a half ago. He was employed by the Planco Manufacturing Company. Gilbert was born on May 2, 1877 at Portland Mo.

He is survived by his widow, Ellen, of the home; four sons, Tech Sergt. Robert V. Gilbert, Jr., servmg with the 8th Air Force in England, Lawrence, Clarence, and Harry Gilbert, all of the home; his father, H. H. Gilbert, Fulton, Mo two sisters, Mattiebelle Doeling, Fulton, Mo., and Mrs. Lois Burton, Williamsburg, Mo.; and a brother W. S. Gilbert, Okay, Okla. Funeral services and burial will be conducted at Auxvasse, Mo. Friends may call at the Downing Mortuary until 5:30 p. m. Saturday.
