Dr. Charles N. Johnson Passes

1885-1961

Funeral services for Dr. Charles N. Johnson, 75, a Wichita physician since 1917, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Byrd Snodgrass Funeral Home. Dr. Johnson died Monday of a heart attack.

The Rev. Dr. D. K. McColl, pastor of Hillside Christian Church, and Joe C. Black, minister at South Emporia Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers were Franklin Johnson, Richard Johnson, Harry Strattan, Wendell Dunsworth, James Strattan and Ancel Lewis.

Honorary bearers included Drs. R. M. Gouldner, Henry Tihen, Ernest M. Seydell, E. D. Carter, C. T. Hagan, W. P. Callahan Sr. and Thor Jager.

Dr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mabel; a daughter, Mrs. Allison Strattan of Wichita; three sons, Charles N. Jr. of Arlington, VA, James of Dallas, Texas, and Dale of Wichita, and 12 grandchildren.

Dr. Johnson will be remembered by the older residents of this community as he was born near Andale, and practiced medicine in this community for five years, prior to moving to Wichita.
