A search for 82 year-old Pierce Sylvester Mullen, who had been missing since last Wednesday, resulted in the discovery of his body Sunday afternoon a short distance from the home of his daughter, Mrs. O. F. Foster, 3720 North Arkansas, with whom he had been residing.
Glen Owen, 3734 Arkansas, reported to Sheriff Keith E. Moore that he found the body. Dr. Lang F Bowman, county coroner, said death resulted from natura1 causes and probably occurred last Wednesday.
A retired farmer, Mullen came to Wichita from Seward 36 years ago. He also had lived near St. John, Kas. A member of Trinity Methodist Church, he previously had lived at 223 North Athenian.
In addition to the widow, Ladocia, he leaves two sons, Donald L., executive secretary of the Wichita Board of Trade, 3261 East Twelfth, and Earl L., 223 North Athenian; the daughter, and a brother, Enos, in California; nine grandchildren, E. T. Mullen, R. L. Mullen, P. R. Mullen, D. O. Mullen, Warren Mullen, Lawrence Mullen, Mrs. Wayne Romine, Mrs. Ida Sibels, and Miss Beulah Mullen; and two great-grandchildren, Richard W. Mullen and James Robert Mullen.
The Rev. LeRoy Arend, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, will officiate at funeral services at the Byrd-Snodgrass Mortuary at 4:00 p. m. Monday. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include: E. L. Mullen, E. T. Mullen, R. L. Mullen and P. R. Mullen.
