HERBERT BUPTON ODELL

Funeral services will be held at Downing Mortuary Chapel on Saturday afternoon. Odell age 64 died Wednesday at the Veterans Hospital. He is a former superintendent of the Wichita Terminal Association and "one of the city’s most enthusiastic aviation backers." He was born at Marshall, MO on September 5, 1880.

Odell served in WWI and ended his service as a Lieutenant Colonel. He resided in Wichita since leaving the service. During the war he led an engineering unit which constructed a railway south from Murmansk and Archangel in Russia to St. Petersburg.

His memberships included American Legion; Wichita Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Rite Masons, Sojourners and other civic affairs. He supported Wichita’s fight for recognition in the air transportation and manufacturing fields.

His survivors include his wife, Campbellina LUCAS ODELL and a son Herbert Odell, U.S. Army.
