She was born in Oberlin, Ks., Decator County. She owned & operated a bookstore in Goodland until retiring in 1998. Survivors include: her husband, Max, of the home; a son, Mark Carman & 2 daughters, Tarnella Baker & Lynn Herbic, 2 sisters, Joyce Ploussard & Nancy Moore.
