William Edward "Ed" Karnes, 73, Hoxie, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Sheridan County Hospital, Hoxie. He was born Sept. 27, 1934, near Hoxie to Clifford and Ethel Haynes Karnes. He married Phyllis Gaede on Feb. 7, 1954, near Hoxie.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Mark Karnes, and Scott Karnes, two daughters, Myrna Raile and Karen Lewis, a brother, Daryl Karnes, and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hoxie.
