LeRoy Korte, 71, Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. He was born April 19, 1936, near Rexford to Henry and Mary Juenemann Korte. He attended Violenta School until eighth grade, then went to high school in Selden.

He married Carol Cheney on Dec. 28, 1964, in Colby. He worked in construction, ranching and at service stations. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; five sons, Norbert Korte, Robert Korte, Tony Korte and Eric Korte, and Chris Korte, two daughters, Debbie Abernathy, and Lori Reek, a brother, Alvin Korte, three sisters, Delores Aumiller, Pat Mumm and Darlene Anderson, 14 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Selden; burial in Selden Cemetery.
