POLICY
RESEARCH REQUEST GUIDELINES
Members of Old Fort Genealogical Society
- Three free queries per year in the Old Fort Log
- There will be a charge of $0.20 for photocopies of information in the library and $0.25 for copies from the microfilm reader/printer.
- Research by library staff of records contained in our library – No charge for the first two hours and $10.00 per hour for each additional hour.
- If a courthouse or funeral home trip is requested, no charge except for courthouse document retrieval charges, copies, and postage ($5.00 minimum for copies and postage).
- Cemetery trips for photos of headstones will be $0.50 per mile, plus cost of prints and postage.
Non-Members of Old Fort Genealogical Society
- $5.00 charge for each query placed in the Old Fort Log. Fee must accompany request.
- Research by library staff of records contained in our library - $15.00 non-refundable fee for the first hour and $10.00 each additional hour required.
- There will be a charge of $0.25 for each photocopy of information in the library and $0.50 for copies from the microfilm reader/printer.
- If a courthouse or funeral home trip is requested, $5.00 charge plus courthouse document retrieval fees, copies, and postage.
- Cemetery trips for photos of headstones will be $0.50 per mile, plus cost of prints and postage.

To help us complete your research request please use the following outline as a guide as to what to include in your request. Please supply as much information as possible.
- Name of person
- List the first, middle, and last name of the person you are requesting information about.
- Place of residence
- List the town, township, and county where this person resided.
- Time frame
- List the dates relating to your request.
- Information you are requesting
- Indicate Birth, Marriage, Wills, Death, or other miscellaneous information.
- Miscellaneous Information
- Please include any information you think will help us in the research.
