Mrs. Elmer Ames Dies Suddenly

Succumbs To Stroke Saturday Afternoon In Tyler Drug Store

Misfortune struck the Elmer Ames family last Saturday afternoon when Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Ames, 59 years of age, was stricken in death in the Tyler Drug Store in Caldwell. Mrs. Ames, who resided five miles southwest of town, had just entered the store presumably to make a purchase, apparently feeling faint, she asked for a chair which Mrs. Tyler promptly provided for her. She died almost immediately.

She had come to town with her husband earlier in the day and was in the process of transacting errands about town. Previously Saturday she is said to have consulted a physician who had prescribed for her. She had not been considered dangerously ill.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Caldwell Methodist Church with Rev. C. E. Coppedge, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Caldwell cemetery by the Schaeffer Funeral service.

Mrs. Ames was born at Marion, Kansas. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Ames, and the following children; Max Ames, Bucklin, Kansas; Eldon S. Ames, Cedar vale, Kansas; Vera Ames and Donald Ames, Caldwell.
