Henry Arthur Ehrichs was born on the farm near Collyer, July 14th, 1903 and was instantly killed in an auto accident near Perry, Kansas, on August 17, 1936. Being at the time of his death, 33 years, 1 month and 3 days of age.

Henry was a Trego county boy, spending his life on the farm near Collyer until 1930 when he moved to WaKeeney to enter business. On May 2, 1926 he was united in marriage to Bertha Tilton of Collyer and to this union one son was born, Ross Herman, age 3 years. Mr. and Mrs. Ehrichs lived on a farm near the old home place for 4 years after they were married before moving to WaKeeney. As a child Henry was baptized in the Lutheran Church. He attended country school and graduated from Trego County High School with the class of 1924. He was a Mason, a member of the Quinter Lodge. Also a member of A. O. U. W. 390 Collyer.

He leaves to mourn his sudden and untimely death, his wife and little son, his mother, Mrs. H. H. Ehrichs and two sisters, Mrs. Therese Richardson and Mrs Augusta Hooper, both of Collyer, Kansas, an aunt, Mrs. Adolph Schwanbeck, of Voda, Kansas, four cousins and his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Tilton of Collyer and other relatives and many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the Zeman Hall in Collyer, Thursday morning at 10:00, by Rev. H. H. Beers. Burial was in the family lot in Collyer Cemetery.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers and son of Quemeno; Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Walz of Hays; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Sparks and family of Hill City; Mr. and Mrs. Emery Ekey, Clarence Ekey and Lena (Lela) Glendening, all of Codell; Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Ekey of Hays; Mrs. Loyd Tilton of Quinter; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harvey and family of Studley and Mr. and Mrs. John Razak of Utica.
