~The Rush County News, LaCrosse, Rush County, Kansas, December 16, 1976Ellen Barnes Fergis was born September 4, 1906 in Collyer, Kansas. She died November 17, 1976 in Yuma, Ariz. at the Yuma Regional Medical Center and was buried November 22 at the Yuma Cemetery.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, the First Methodist Church of Hays; The American Legion and VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband Ron Fergis of the home, two sisters; Bertha Hubalick (Hubalek) and Minnie Burbeck (Burbach) of WaKeeney; two daughters: Treva Sullivan of Hays and Virginia Baughman of San Diego, California and seven grandchildren.
