OBITUARY of Elmer Leo Jacobitz

Elmer Leo Jacobitz, 88, of Titusville, Florida, formerly of Collyer, Kansas, was called to the Lord Tuesday, April 23, 2220 at the Titusville Rehab & Nursing Center. He was born on July 27, 1913 in a sod house near Orion, Kansas to Carl & Augusta (Gese) Jacobitz.

He attended school at the Coin school at the Coin School House in Gove County. He married Mary Ann Milinek of Collyer, Kansas on February 25, 1937. To this union one daughter, Phyllis Marie was born.

He was a farmer & enjoyed raising cattle. They retired to Collyer in 1979 due to his failing health. There he enjoyed gardening & was always ready for a card game. In November 1999, he & Mary Ann moved to Titusville, Florida to be near their daughter. he was a past District Dupty Grand Master of the WaKeeney Independent order of Odd Fellows Lodge. He also enjoyed selling tickets, for many year, at Zaman hall for the Saturday night dances in Collyer.

He is survived by his wife & companion of sixty-five years, Mary Ann, a daughter Phyllis & Husband Harry LaVigne. A grandson Bryan LaVigne & wife Sherry, a granddaughter Karen LaVigne, a great grandson Cody LaVigne, plus a host of nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, Laura Cantress, Frieda Caler, Gladys Hoover, Elma Zeman, Edna Bradshaw & Elizabeth Switzer & three brothers, Albert, Amil & Ralph.

A grave side service will be at a later date in Collyer, Kansas.
The family request no flowers. A memorial may be made in his name to the Parkinson Foundation or the Titusville Rehab & Nursing Center, wing II, 1705 Jess Parrish Court, Titusville, Florida 32796.
