Is there someone out there that is willing to do a lookup for me in the Kansas 1870 census?
I am looking for William C. Watkins, his wife Sarah and their children.
They were living somewhere in Kansas in 1870 but I don't know the county.
I would really appreciate any help that you could give me.

Searching for info on the Edwin Moctezuma family.
Edward Moved to
Topeka, in aprox 1899 where his mother Maria Moctezuma ran a chile parlor.
Edward attended Haskell Institute for Indian boys in Lawrence.
In 1902 the family moved to Atchison and opened a chile parlor at
3rd and Commercial street while his older brother Augustine Moctezuma
remained in Topeka. In 1910 the chile parlor was move to 408 Commercial. We
have been told that the Chile Parlor was very popular with the students from
St. Benedit's College and that they refered to it as Moc's.
From
the 1920 census we have found that Edward and his wife Josefina (JOSEPHINE)
lived in Atchison and had five daughters of which we have names on 4: Lucy,
Lupe, Jo and Mary. SSI records show that Josephine died on 15 Aug 1966. She
was living at 66002 Atchison, Atchison, KS at the time of her death. Ed was
forced to sell the chile parlor in 1950 due to a heart attack.
We
are trying to find out more information on the family and if any of the
family still live in Kansas.
I believe my great grandfather, Jobe A. Shockey and his family came to Stockton,
Kansas in the 1870's or 1880's. He died in 1887 and the family returned to
Missouri. If Jobe did die in Kansas I want information regarding him while
in that area. I was told by my aunt that Jobe migrated to Kansas leading a
wagon train along with several hundred head of cattle. He meant to stay
there with his family but after he died or was killed there the family left
their new home. Can anyone give me any information. My aunt also told me he
was buried in Kansas but when his sons were grown they went back to Kansas
and brought the body back to Missouri for re burial. The last years of
Jobe's life are a mystery. Thank you. Carole Shockey

I am searching for any information on the name Curwick or Belgarde. I am told
that my gg-grandfather Hippolite Curwick was living somewhere in Kansas and
was married to a woman by the last name of Terhune. She died and he
eventually married the Indian girl that was hired to help him take care of
his children. Her name was Susan Belgarde. They had at least one child
that I know of named Joseph Napoleon Curwick that was born in Kansas in
1876. I have found other Curwicks living in Kansas in the Pottawatomie
area, but I haven't been able to figure out how they fit in yet. I thought
that maybe the other people could be other children of Hippolite, but I
can't be sure. Any help would be truly appreciated.

I am desperately seeking any information for my genealogical research on Bertha
(Racy) Horn. I know only her birth year (1894) and her marriage to George
Horn on April 16, 1912 in Cherokee County, Kansas. I believe that George
Horn grew up in Atchison County, Kansas. Questions I would love to have
answered include: What was Bertha Racy's mother's maiden name? What was her
father's given name? Did Bertha Racy have any siblings. If so, who were/are
they? Where was Bertha Racy born? I would be so grateful for any
information. I fear that my family tree may remain forever lopsided unless I
can gain appropriate information on the Racy family. If you can help,
please use the following e-mail address: InguzCL@cs.com
My grandmother, Mary Elsie (Mamie) KNIPSCHEER COOPER, was born in Los Angeles,
CA, 17 May 1906. On her birth certificate, her parents, Robert Bruce
KNIPSCHEER and Jane Delia ROUSSEY, are listed as having been born in Kansas;
they would have been born in the general vicinity of 1875.
Anybody have these two anywhere?
