I'm hoping to find the descendants of Maria Schoonover Carpenter and Alfred Carpenter. They were married Oct. 28, 1871 in Benton Co., IA. In the list of heirs in Maria's father's will, it states that she lives in Kerwin, KS. I haven't been able to find a Kerwin, KS. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated.

Family legend is he had a trading post, was caught in a blizzard & died as a result. He had a son, John Edward Rino, born Nov 1889 Shawnee co.,KS, mother Martha Susan Johnson. Need to locate date & place of death for all, but especially Ira's. Would also like to locate date & place marriages for all mentioned. Thank you, CShaw24206@aol.com

Hi:

I recently found out about a secret first husband of my grandmother's. His name was Clinton Center and they would have been married any time between 1925-1931. If anyone has any info, I would be most appreciative. Somewhere in southeast Kansas, I believe.

Thanks, Suzann

From: Sarah Harris ksharris@mvn.net
Date: Sunday, December 10, 2000 01:12 AM

I'm looking for info on Everrett E. Carnahan. He was living in Clinton Co, IL during the 1920 census. My dad worked on his farm after he finished grade school, that would have been about 1931. Everrett was married to Ida F. Padgett, and according to my dad they had 4 daughters. My dad's name was Ray (R.D.) Carter.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

There is also a Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Montgomery Co., KS. It is very large and has some VERY OLD sections. They have much or most of the graves in a computer data base and were very helpful in locating several of my ancestors.

Topic: HULL &/or CLOUGH
From: Joseph Hull andesite@aol.com
Date: Sunday, December 03, 2000 11:54 AM

Looking for possibly two families in Kansas between 1872 and 1880. (1) Oscar F. HULL and Lydia "Liddie" CASSIDY Hull with their two children William and Alvin. (2) Daniel H. CLOUGH and Jane ALEXANDER Hull Clough with their daughter Eva. These two families migrated from homesteads in Clay County, southeast South Dakota in the early 1870's through Kansas to Washington and Oregon before the 1880 census. I have no information on their stay in Kansas; just a long shot! Would be happy to correspond with anyone working on HULLs or CLOUGHs in KS. Thanks! andesite@aol.com

From: Kim Campbell glcampbell@pldi.net

I am looking for Edwin Gee born in 1844 in Savannah MO. Married to Rachel Thrailkill. They had the following children: Rolan, Sterling Price, Robert, Thomas Jefferson, Frank, Sybil, and Magnolia. They eventually settled in Kingfisher Co. OK. I have reason to believe that they lived in Kansas for a while after they left MO. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Kim
