Topic: Short or Tucker Surname
From: Debbie R. justamom1996@yahoo.com
Date: Thursday, August 24, 2000 10:00 PM

I have recently found out my GGGrandmother was born in KS. Her Married name was Alice Scott and she was born in Kansas in January of 1862 according to the 1900 census. She married Thomas (I or J)Scott in Indian Territory in Ok sometime before 1855 and had 5 living children : Ethel, Walter, Thomas Cleveland, Wilma and Clyde Henry. On the grave of her son Walter (died in action during WW1)she is listed as Alice Short but family folklore has her family listed as Tuckers who at one time owned the Tucker Wagon Company before selling it to Studebaker during the Civil War. I have found no proof of either. Anyone that can help please E-mail me at Justamom1996@yahoo.com Thanks!
