Do you mean Eureka Springs, Arkansas? There is a Eureka in Greenwood County, on US 54, a couple of miles WEST of State Highway 99. From the 1997 Randy McNally Raod Atlas.

Yes, it is possible that there was a Eureka Spring, KS in the 1880s. It could be a ghost town now. You may want to see if you can find a gazetteer for that time period. It may contain a listing.

My AniMap site finder does not list a "Eureka Springs", but it does list "Camp Eureka", "Eureka Lake" and "Eureka Valley" in Riley County, KS (39 degrees 9 minutes N & 96 degrees 38 minutes West). It also lists a "Eureka" in Greenwood County, KS (37 d 49 min N, 96 d 17 min W.) Hope these help you. Beth Pany

I am looking for George S. Oulds born to George S (or E) Oulds and Minnie Oulds approximately 1890 in Fort Scott, Kansas. They moved to Paris, Texas for a time but may have returned to Kansas because they had family in the area. George S. (or E) Oulds was the son of Samual A. Oulds (S.A. Oulds) whose biographical sketch appears in William G. Cutler's "History of the State of Kansas" Bourbon County, Part 12. Please let me know if you have any information about what happened to George S. Oulds, particularly if he had any family. I am assisting an Oulds family researcher in England who has a tremendous amount of Oulds family history both in England and Australia and is now trying to tie up loose ends here in the States.

Take a look at this link to Osborne County. Pick one of the maps. On the left side about half way down you will find Mount Ayr Township, what appears to be a town(in late 19th cenutry), and Ayr Creek.

Mt. Ayr had a post office from 09 Jan 1874 to 30 Sept 1895; then Mountayr had a post office from 18 Jan 1900 to 30 Apr 1902. Try the North Central KS Genealogical Society for help -
P.O. Box 251
Cawker City, Kansas 67430
They have Osborne county info. Good luck, Ardie
