I would like any information about Henry Sommers and George Kaufman:


Lyman Henry Sommer is senior member of the firm of Sommer & Kaufman, editors and publisher of the Barber County Index and the Medicine Lodge Republic , consolidated in the name of the Tarkio Avalanche. Mr. Sommer was born at Kiowa, Kansas, June 19, 1892 a son of Henry and Elizabeth (Shenk) Sommer, pioneer farming people of Kansas. The father died in 1893, but the mother is still living.
Educated in the Kiowa High school and the Kansas state Agricultural College, Lyman Henry Sommer began his newspaper career, and from 1910 to 1917 was with the Medicine Lodge and Barber County Index. in the latter year he entered the army for service during the World war, was assigned to Company G, Three Hundred and fifty-third Infantry, and went overseas as a member of the American Expeditionary forces June 4, 1918. He was commissioned a second lieutenant of infantry at Prum, Germany, while a member the Army of Occupation and was honorably discharge May 22, 1919.
In 1919 Mr. Sommer and J.S. Simms became owner of the Barber County Index and consolidated with the Medicine Lodge Republic. Later George Hilbert Kaufman became the junior member of the firm. Mr. Kaufman served during the World was in the Thirteenth Marines, A.E.F he married Miss Elizabeth Hall of Tarkio, and they have one child, Alice Elizabeth Kaufman.
Mr. Sommer married Leoline Kaufman, a daughter of Hilbert Kaufman of Wichita county Kansas, a prominent business man at one time president of the Liberty Refining company and of the Wichita grain Exchange, and is now exporting cattle and grain upon an extensive scale. Mr. and Mrs. Sommer have two children, Hilberta and Mary Ann.
