Looking for info on John Payton. He was living in Allen Co., KS in 1870 & 1880. Believe he married Mary Buckmaster. Mary may have been a widow. John's parents were John & Catherine Slaughter Payton. I believe John was probably born in Louisa Co., IA abt 1848 or 1849. He had siblings, James, William (killed in Civil War), Richard (killed in Civil War), and a sister Frances m Richard Fowler. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated. Would love to hear from any descendents!!
