What is the history of Sam Purple a one time resident of Hodgeman Co. I heard that in the late 1800's that he came home and murdered his wife, 3 children and a sister-in-law and was placed in the jail of Dodge City. Friends and Family members went to Dodge and broke him out of jail took him back to his house in Hodgeman Co. and hung him from his barn and buried under the highway to have his remains trampled over for his crime.
