My maternal grandfather John Carl Spickler and wife Mabel lived in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. My mother Marjorie Mae Spickler was born there on 1 September 1921. John Spickler owned a rock quarry, Deer Creek Quarry. He died in 1926, and my grandmother and mother later moved to Texas. We have in our family a cast bronze "advertising" piece that is approximately 3" X 2" for Crosby Bros Co. It is commemorating 50 years of service from 1880 to 1930. The front has the seal of the State of Kansas in the center with images of W.T. Crosby on the right and E.H. Crosby on the left. The back of this commemorative lists the officers of the company: E.H. Crosby, president and treasurer; C.B. Crosby, vice president; Earle C. Williams, vice president; C.L.E. Williams, secretary. It also lists the Board of Directors of the Company: E.H. Crosby; C.B. Crosby; Earl G. Williams; C.L.E. Edwards; John L. Hunt; and J.R. Burrow, Jr. Does anyone know what this company did?
