WILLIAM URIAH and PHILA ANN LEIST GROVE settled in 1927 in rural Greenwood County. William's father was JESSE GROVE of original Butler, then Bourbon County. Phila Ann was originally from Crawford then Greenwood County.
Before farming in Greenwood county, William was a Weir-Pittsburg Coal Field Miner. I am their granddaughter.

Would like to hear from anyone in the Jeremiah or Noah Leist or Wendle Grove family line. My GG Grandfather Jeremiah Leist came by wagon training from Ohio in 1865. They settled in Drywood Township, Bourbon county. Notes are also recorded as Erie. My family line is son Noah Leist and Nancy Jenkins Leist of Crawford County, Noah grew to be a skilled horseman who would break and train horses. He is buried somewhere around Arcadia where he lived most of his adult life. Noah died as a result of an accident while breaking a horse.
Phila is the Mother of Floyd H. Grove and mother-in-law of Arleta Jeanne Rector Grove.
