Am looking for any additional information about Charles Adam Heiland and Mary Margaret Barr. They lived in Lakin and raised three daughters: Helen, Myrtle, and Margaret Jo. Charles was a carpenter and constructed many of the homes in Lakin. He also served in the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection. Both are buried at the Lakin Cemetery. Would like any additional information about them. Mary Barr was in an orphanage in Queens, NY, but no records are available about her family. Charles (Adam) Heiland is listed in several US census from 1870 to 1920 from Ohio, Kansas and the Philippines.
