I am looking for information on Judson Kilpatrick McCOY who is buried in Wilson County. He died January 2, 1900. He is supposedly buried in Earlton, KS, but died in Joplin, MO. His widow was in Wilson, Co in the 1900 Census with her 4 young children. Wife's name was Mary (DRYDEN) McCOY. Any help is appreciated.

Subject: Cemeteries in Wilson County or near Fredonia
My g-g-g-great grandfather George W. BRAZEL or BRAZLE is said to have died (and possibly) have been buried in Wilson County. He died on 15 September 1869. I do have photocopies of the probate court settling of his estate. He was married to a woman whose name was Elizabeth. I would like to know where he is buried. (He owned land at one time: Southwest quarter of the southeast quarter, Section 32 Twp 29, Range 15 east.)

DOBSON, LITTRELL, SMITH

We are looking for my husband's great grandmother(Elizabeth J. SMITH) who died in Fredonia Kansas in 1913. Her obituary (such as it is) says that she died at her home the Mellen Place. She moved to Kansas from Iowa with her husband Newlin SMITH, which we have basically nothing on. We do have them in the 1880 Iowa Census. Elizabeth was buried in the Union Center Cemetery in Girard, KS. She and Newlin had several children - Moses, Jane, Lucy, Rachel who married a DOBSON, and Wesley Elmer (my husband's grandfather) - I believe that there were more children than this but we aren't sure. Wesley SMITH with his wife (Henrietta Cornelia LITTRELL) and several of his children were also living in Fredonia in August of 1912 as one of their children Lloyd was born there. Basically, most of the family is dead and those that are still alive don't know much and what they do know is not very plausible. Henrietta was supposed to have been 3/4 Cherokee Indian, which she did portray those features. Wesley and Henrietta had lived in Carmen Ok and maybe other places as well before moving to Fredonia. If anyone knows anything about any of these people or what the Mellen House might have been please contact me at mssmith@pittstate.edu

BEARDEN/BERDEN, SCATES

I am researching the family of Samuel C & Eliza J BEARDEN (BERDEN) SCATES.
They lived in Wilson Co. from 1880-1895 maybe longer, moved to Allen Co., then back to Wilson Co. I can't seem to find where Samuel, his wife, Eliza and 2 of their small children, Louisa & Sammie, are buried. They had 16 children in all. They lived on a farm in Benedict.
How would I go about finding any information? Wilson Co. doesn't have a cemetery listing for there county. Is it possible that they are buried on the farm?
