Topic: Blackman's in Wilson County?
From: Melissa Antos grvechsr@aol.com
Date: Sunday, April 29, 2001 05:50 PM

Just spent today at the Coyville Cemetery; I have Hunter's buried there. As I was leaving, was totally shocked to stumble upon Blackman's, namely Thomas and Allen, and their wives Phoebe and Annie. I believe these two gentlemen may be brothers of my great-great-grandfather, George Blackman, originally from New York. George's son, James Foster Blackman, married Mary Adaline Hunter. I have seen legal papers, also newspaper clippings referring to Thomas and Allen. I believe Allen may have been a postmaster in Coyville for some time.

Any information anyone has on these Blackman's would be greatly appreciated.

Topic: BELL/NORRIS 1822 Marriage?
From: Dave Norris norrisd@adelphia.net
Date: Monday, April 23, 2001 08:30 PM

Urban Hartman NORRIS married Angeline(Angelina) BELL 10 Sep 1882 in Neodesha, Wilson Co., KS - according to unconfirmed LDS IGI data. Her father was Albert BELL. His father was John NORRIS. I believe the BELLs and Urban NORRIS may have lived in Wilson Co. at the time of the marriage. Could any reader perform a lookup to confirm this marriage and check the 1880 census for Albert BELL and Urban NORRIS? I know that John NORRIS was in TX by 1880 but Urban stayed in KS before moving to IA and NE where he became a Medical Doctor. Any assistance appreciated.
