Obituary of JACOB B. SCHAFER
Jacob B. Schafer, 904 E. 5th St., died early Sunday (4 February 1973) at Russell City Hospital. He had been in failing health for several months and had been in the Ala Fern Nursing Home, and was admitted to the hospital Friday.

He was born April 3, 1996, at Bonn, Russia. He came to the United States in 1906 and lived in Barton County. On June 20, 1907, he married Mary Elizabeth Brack. Mr. Schafer farmed and was an oil field worker. They moved to Russell in 1948. Mrs. Brack died August 29, 1969. Mr. Brack attended the Lutheran Church.

Survivors are six daughters: Mrs. Sieg (Irene) Morgenstern, Mrs. Reinhold (Alvina) Wegele, both of Russell; Mrs. Conrad (Nima) Krom, Mrs. Walter (Florence) Stieben, both of Great Bend; Mrs. Ray (Isabell) Huschka, Ellinwood; Mrs. Norman (LaFern) Sharkey, Hutchinson; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pohlman Memorial Chapel, Rev. Earnest Pihl officiating. Burial will be in Russell Cemetery.
