Obituary: Opal May Garten

Opal May Garten , youngest daughter of Bud and Pearl Garten, was born in Sun City, Kansas, July 13, 1910, and passed away at the Community Hospital in Pratt, Kansas, September 30, 1934, at the age of twenty four years, two months and seventeen days. Three brothers, Roy, Albert and Glenn have preceded her in death, Opal being the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. Garten to pass away in the last fifteen years. She is survived by her father, mother, one brother, Guy, at home, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Turk, Los Angeles, California, one niece, Opal June Turk, two nephews, Dallas Turk and Dale Garten, and a host of relatives and friends.

She united with the Baptist church in Sun City at an early age, and attended the church and Sunday School regularly, and was one of the fine young people of that congregation. She was a kind, loving, thoughtful daughter, sister and friend.
