Death of Mrs. Homer Hoagland

Mrs. Homer Hoagland of Sun City, whom was taken to a Wichita hospital about a week ago, died at that place last Saturday. The family live in the Sun City neighborhood, and the sorrowing family have the heartfelt sympathy of all who knew them.

Alice Marian Rowley was born at Sun City, Kansas, Sept. 18, 1881, died at the St. Francis hospital, in Wichita, Feb. 9, 1918. She grew to womanhood at Sun City, and was married to Homer F. Hoagland, June 5, 1902. To this union were born two children, Louie and Freddie.

She, together with her husband and son Louie, were converted and joined the Baptist church six years ago. She was an active worker in the church, Aid Society and Red Cross, and will be greatly missed in these organizations, as well as in the home.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, two sons, two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Walker of Kling and Mrs. Nettie Owens of Sharon; and a brother, Oren Rowley of Lasswell.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Sun City on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Wood, the pastor, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery east of Sun City.

Hoagland - Rowley

Homer F. Hoagland and Alice M. Rowley, both of Sun City, were united in marriage by Probate Judge Lacy last Thursday, June 5, 1902.

The groom is one of the most prosperous young farmers of the community in which he lives and the bride is a daughter of the late ex-Commissioner N. G. Rowley. Her mother is now Mrs. Isaac Sharp of this city. Mrs. Hoagland is loved and respected by all who know her and her husband is entitled to the hearty congratulations of his friends.

Alice Marian (Rowley) Hoagland was the daughter of Newell Greely Rowley & Linda (Ferry) Rowley.
