The following is a translation of: Kyrkobok för Svenska M E församlingen i Seapo Kan. 1878
This translation was done for us by;
Sven-Erik Sundqvist, Chairman of the Genealogy Society in Bollnas, Sweden

The book is in poor condition (disintegratring and deteriorating from age) and difficult to read. Mr. Sundqvist was kind enough give us his time to translate this piece. The book is the original, with no copy that we are aware of; and, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first time it has been viewed outside the Swedish M. E. Church that was finally closed down in Wayne, Republic County, Kansas. Mr. Sundqvist has asked me to correct any English that was not properly done. Quite frankly, I consider it an excellent job and chose to leave it as he translated it. The only correction I have made is the html coding and page layout so that the translation may be read on the Internet.

Without the help of Mr. Sundqvist, this work could not have been accomplished and there is no amount of THANK YOUs that will ever repay his generosity in helping not only me to discover information about my famly, but also other families to discover their genealogy.

Many of these people emigrated from Bollnas, Alfta, and Enviken in Sweden. Many went to Bishop Hills, IL and then completed their destination to Clay Center, Clay County, Kansas and on to Wayne Village, Republic County, Kansas. They helped to build Wayne Village. After the loss of the railroad, Wayne begin to die and in 1999, there are possibly 4 or 5 families still living there. However, that history is rich with the integrity and industrious personality of the Swedish emigrants who developed the area. This is but one of the almost lost records of them being there.
