W. Scott Bontrager is probably Winfield Scott Bontrager. He was born in 1852 in Ohio to David Bontrager and Caroline Miller. He was one of 10 children. David was born in Pennsylvania in 1804 and Caroline was born in New Jersey in 1807. They married in Tuscarawas County Ohio. Then the whole family seems to have moved to Kansas, passing through Illinois and Iowa, where, respectively, one child was born to them, and another child got married.
