I am a PhD candidate at KU. I did my undergraduate work and MA at ESU in Emporia. Currently I am looking for information on the law practice of Preston B. Plumb. My dissertation topic centers on a case study of anti-horse thief vigilantism that occurred in Butler County, Kansas in November and December, 1870. Local accounts indicate that the law firm of Ruggles & Plumb was sent to sort it all out. If you have any information concerning the practice of Ruggles & Plumb during 1870-1871, I am interested!
