yes, I am researching the Bond family. My greatgrandfather is James David Bond. He married Celia Bemus in Washington, Washington, Kansas. I didn't know the year they were married. You indicated 1877. That would be in line with what I know which is very little. James and Celia had eight children. Their third child, Margaret Sueann (my grandmother)married Simon Samuel Schenk. They lived in Anadarko, OK. James and Celia's eight children's names are: John,Mary or Mae, Margaret, Lester or Solon, Walter Scott, Robert Perry, Celia Ann, and James or Leo. I found some information about Washington, Kansas in 1863. There were two male Bonds, John and Rich (Richard) who lived there. Richard Bond is buried in the Washington City cemetary. He was born in 1822 and died in 1902. There is also four other Bonds buried in this cemetary. They are; Alfred A. born 1842 died 1930, Bertha May born 1873 died 1970, Emma born 11/26/1879 died 03/09/1971. In the pioneer roster of Washington, Kansas there are three Bonds listed as early settlers. They are; Richard, John, and H. J. I am wondering if H. stands for Henry. The roster states they were all born in England. The year of settlement is as follows; Richard in 1859, John in 1858, and H.J. in 1868. The roster states they all lived in Hollenberg-Charleston which was the residence for the township location as they were defined in 1875. I'm wondering too if H. J. was a brother to Richard and John. We maybe comparing the same family.
